Newport Coast
Newport is an affluent Coast community south of the main body of the city of Newport Beach, CA. It was a separate census-designated place in Orange County California until 2001, when it was annexed into Newport Beach. The population was 9,741 in 2010. The master-planned community was developed by the Irvine Company. There are a variety of home types in the community, from small studio apartments to ocean view mansions occupied by well-known celebrities.

Newport Coast was annexed into the City of Newport Beach in 2002. Newer homes, upscale hotels and the Pelican Hill Golf Course line the hillsides and offer breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The historic Crystal Cove State Park, tucked between Coast Highway and the ocean, includes three miles of coastline and its historic district contains more than a dozen restored 1930s-era vacation cottages that can be rented year-round.
